Daniel finishes 7th in the 12th stage of the Tour de France

The twelfth stage of the Tour de France started today. The mountain stage began in Montpellier and ended in Chalet-Reynard (Mont Ventoux). Daniel Teklehaimanot was in the front early on, and kept being there for a long time. He ultimately finished 7th, three minutes and 13 seconds after the stage winner Thomas de Gendt.

Daniel went up from the 124th to the 88th position in the general classification.

Natnael Berhane had it a bit rough today, he came 165th in the stage.

Daniels goal is to win a stage in this year Tour de France. Seventh is the highest he ever ended in a stage. He finished seventh in stage 16 during the last year Tour de France. No black person has ever finished higher in a Tour de France stage.
